Oakwood Country Club

Oakwood Country Club, located in North Canton, Ohio, is a private golf and social club with a rich history dating back to 1922. Founded by a group of individuals who initially gathered at the Wade Inn near Navarre, the club now sits on land granted by Henry Firestone from the Firestone Farm. The original clubhouse was constructed by charter members using materials sourced frugally, including oak paneling from an old bank building.

Today, Oakwood Country Club features a nine-hole golf course that began as three simple holes in 1924 and officially opened its current layout on July 4, 1929. Over the years, numerous enhancements have been made to both the course and facilities. The club emphasizes a family-friendly atmosphere where members often consider each other extended family.
