Champions Golf Club, located in Houston, Texas, was established in 1957 by Masters champions Jackie Burke Jr. and Jimmy Demaret. The club features two highly regarded courses: the Cypress Creek course designed by Ralph Plummer and the Jackrabbit course designed by George Fazio with updates by his nephew Tom Fazio. Since the opening of the Cypress Creek course in 1959 and the subsequent addition of the Jackrabbit course five years later, Champions Golf Club has been lauded for its superior design and challenging layout.
Over the decades, Champions Golf Club has hosted numerous high-profile golf events, including the 1967 Ryder Cup, 1969 U.S. Open, multiple U.S. Amateur Championships, Women’s Mid-Amateur Championships, several TOUR Championships from 1990 to 2003, and notably the 2020 U.S. Women's Open.
