Weibring Golf Club, located on the campus of Illinois State University, offers a rich history and extensive facilities for golf enthusiasts. The course was initially designed in 1962 by renowned architect Robert Bruce Harris and officially opened in 1964. Originally featuring a regulation-length 9-hole course on the outskirts and an executive-length 9-hole course centrally, it has undergone significant renovations in recent years.
In the 2000 season, notable PGA Champions Tour player and ISU alumnus D.A. Weibring spearheaded an extensive renovation project through his company Golf Resources Inc., enhancing both the design and playability of the course. This modernized version was unveiled to golfers with considerable improvements in layout and amenities.
Honoring D.A. Weibring's contributions, the club was renamed Weibring Golf Club at Illinois State University in September 2007. The club offers a unique blend of competitive golf suitable for everyday golfers while maintaining an exclusive private feel, making it an ideal venue for both practice and casual play.
